When the Horns Got Afraid Of The CraftsMen!!! A Very Different War Stratergy!!!!

Duke Jeyaraj on the second night vision with Prophet Zechariah saw (Zech. 1:18-21)

Night Vision 2 that Prophet Zechariah saw. He saw four horns (Zech. 1:18). Again he asks the angel who was speaking to him, “What are these?”. When we read the Scriptures, we must ask questions that will lead us to understand the meaning of what we just read. We don’t keep reading without understanding. Having a Study Bible and referring to it goes a long way in doing this as well. Now, back to the second night vision that Zechariah saw. These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem (Zech. 1:19). Horns represent kings and their armies who attacked God’s People. In 722 BC “horn” Assyria took Northern Kingdom of Israel into exile. In 586 BC “horn” Babylon took Southern Kingdom of Israel (Judah and its capital Jerusalem into exile. Four horns could mean attack from kings in four directions. As long as we are on this earth we will face ‘horn’ attacks. From the world, from the Devil, from the Flesh, from the False Teachers within the church. The Lord showed Zechariah, four craftsmen (Zech. 1:20). These craftsmen terrified and threw down the horns who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah (Zech. 1:21). What is the message here? The returning exiles need to only focus on being craftsmen. This work-focus would take care of the horns (the powerful kings and kingdoms). The returning exiles from Babylon need to focus on being craftsmen who rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and temple of Jerusalem. This focus by the craftsmen on their God-given work assignment of rebuilding will terrify and throw down the horns (Zech. 1:20). THE BEST WAY TO WAR IS TO DOGGEDLY DO YOUR GOD-GIVEN WORK!!! And what is our primary God-given work? The work of living a holy life and being busy with evangelism. This would put the ‘horn’ (the devil, the world, the flesh) on the back-foot. This God-given work-focus will scatter the horn-wearing (or hornless) enemy! By quietly doing our God given work as craftsmen we make the Devil afraid of us, we make the Devil run! Don’t be over-obsessed with a needless war of words with the Devil. Rather focus on doing your work – your work of living the Goodnews and sharing it. This itself will make the Devil afraid and run!!
